While neither the plot itself nor the writing of this book were particularly bad - the plot isn't necessarily new, but not boring either, and the story has it's good moments - it is so full of konsalik-ish male sexual phantasies that the story soon became annoying. Rating this isn't too easy for me. While I mostly enjoyed the amount of ideas, many elements of the worldbuilding and the general pacing - the characters and their stilted dialogs constantly prevented me from immersing myself into the story. Also, the first person narrators (sexist) remarks and views of women were a tad annoying. On the other hand, I really wanted to know what is going on and the hint of mystery always made me want to continue and see how all the little threads come together in
Wat een geweldig boek!!!! ik kon hem niet wegleggen. het verhaal speelt zich helemaal af in een herberg. je zou denken wat saai, maar totaal niet. dit boek is super goed geschreven dat je er in een treinvaart doorheen gaat. gebeurtenis volgt op gebeurtenis. de hoofdpersoon probeert een moord op te lossen en dat is eigenlijk maar een klein stuk van het verhaal. want er gebeurt nog iets wat het nog spannender maakt. het verhaal is geschreven vanuit het oogpunt van 1 van de hoofdpersonen. maar dat
Ich muss es abbrechen. Mich muss ein Buch auch sprachlich überzeugen, was dem Autor bei mir nicht gelingt.
Wauw wat knap dat je een verhaal op een plaats kan laten afspelen, in een Herberg tijdens een winterstorm, en toch die spanning erin houden dat je door wilt lezen. En niet alleen door wilt lezen maar ook het volgend deel wilt lezen. Ik heb er nu al zin in.Het verhaal begint op een ijskoude avond in een Herberg. Een oudere man zit in een hoek van de herberg en beziet zijn mede "gevluchte voor de storm". Hij heeft een bundel achter zich die niemand mag zien of aanraken. De herberg is redelijk
Het is misschien niet het meest originele fantasyboek dat ik tot noch toe gelezen heb. Toch, wanneer je er eenmaal in zit, is het een leuk verhaal en je leert de karakters steeds wat beter kennen. Het eind van het boek maakt nieuwsgierig naar het vervolg.
