4.5 Kick Ass Stars!The Hauptmans: Adam and Mercedes This is the 7th book in the Mercy Thompson series- I feel like I have been waiting FOREVER for this book to come out! I was so happy to get more Mercy and Adam! FYI- If you havent read books 1-6, there may be a few spoilers... We start out with Mercy and Adams daughter Jesse out Black Friday shopping. Mercy wrecks her beloved rabbit and tries to get ahold of Adam. She cant reach him. Or anyone in the pack for that matter. How could you help it?While the Mercy Thompson series is an absolute favorite of mine, the past couple of books have been a little on the slower side for me. XD Dont get me wrong, its getting better and better and a lot has improved ever since I started to read this series,
I stopped reading this series years ago (I can't remember why) but it's time I picked it up again.UPDATE: I remember why now. I must be the only woman alive who doesn't like Adam. Sorry, Adam. It's not you, it's me.

I've been enjoying this series and for me to make it to book 7 is rare. This had all the elements of the previous books, danger and strange magic and political machinations. And I like the characters, but for this one the plot was....not weak, but the main protagonists, were more reactive than active. The scene opened with Mercy accompanying Jesse for Black Friday midnight shopping -- on that note, I LOVE how Mercy addressed Jesse as "my stepdaughter". I have a weakness for family story in any of the urban fantasy series I follow --. But since this is Mercy we were talking about, trouble soon found her. She and Jesse were involved in a car bump (after Jesse shocked Mercy with a question about baby) -- which made them late to came back to the pack. It turned out to be a bit of a good thing,
