Commentary Concering Books Blood Lines (D.I. Kim Stone #5)
How do you catch a killer who leaves no trace? A victim killed with a single, precise stab to the heart appears at first glance to be a robbery gone wrong. A caring, upstanding social worker lost to a senseless act of violence. But for Detective Kim Stone, something doesn’t add up. When a local drug addict is found murdered with an identical wound, Kim knows instinctively that she is dealing with the same killer. But with nothing to link the two victims except the cold, calculated nature of their death, this could be her most difficult case yet. Desperate to catch the twisted individual, Kim’s focus on the case is threatened when she receives a chilling letter from Dr Alex Thorne, the sociopath who Kim put behind bars. And this time, Alex is determined to hit where it hurts most, bringing Kim face-to-face with the woman responsible for the death of Kim’s little brother – her own mother. As the body count increases, Kim and her team unravel a web of dark secrets, bringing them closer to the killer. But one of their own could be in mortal danger. Only this time, Kim might not be strong enough to save them…Present Books Toward Blood Lines (D.I. Kim Stone #5)

I am a fan of DI Kim Stone although there are times I wish that she was not as damaged from her childhood as she is. That damage is very evident in Blood Lines as we really learn more about the death of her twin brother and the evil that was their mother. Her ability to solve her current case is weakened by the twisted workings of Dr. Alex Thorne, a sociopath that likes to play games with other people. The game she plays with DI Stone is to fan Kim's fear of her mother getting paroled fromBrilliant! Thrilling! Suspenseful! Gripping! Intriguing! There are not enough adjectives to describe how I feel about this fifth D. I. Kim Stone book, BLOOD LINES by Angela Marsons. When I think Ms. Marsons has given me everything in a mystery/thriller/British police procedural I could possibly want, she surprises me once again with even more. Kim and her team start investigating the stabbing death of an apparent carjacking victim, but something just doesnt feel right to Kim and soon they have
This is the 5th book in the DI Kim Stone series by the excellent rising author Angela Marsons. I have read every book author Angela Marsons has written and she never lets me down, this was yet another excellent thriller. In this novel a victim is killed with a stab to the heart that at first appears to be a robbery gone wrong. But when a second victim is found murdered Detective Kim Stone knows that they are dealing with the same killer. The second victim, a local drug dealer is found with an
3.5 starsIm a little late to the party with this series and thats definitely tainted my enjoyment of this particular book. Blood Lines is the fifth book in the series, but its only the second Ive read; the first being Play Dead (book 4). I jumped right in to PLAY DEAD and was immediately sucked in with the gore and creepiness of the body farm and Kim Stones lack of tact. I never felt like I was missing out by not having read any of the prior books. This time, with BLOOD LINES, not so much. The
Firstly thank you to the publishers, who thankfully often grant me access to their new books, Net Galley and of course the very talented Angela Marsons, one of my favourites.Apologies in the delay of reading, and also the time ready reading the book, work commitments not allowing me the time.DI Kim Stone is one of my favourite characters in this crime/thriller genre. The trials in her own background determines how she responds to individuals is rated on the varying degrees on her personal dont
3.5 Stars for Blood Lines I love this series & the character of Kim Stone. Unfortunately, this is my least favorite installment to date. It's not a bad read. It still has all the elements I have to come to love and expect from Marsons. I simply wasn't as into the case in this book as I have been with the other books though I think it was because I had high expectations. I was psyched when I saw Dr. Alex Thorne was back - having previously enjoyed the back and forth power plays & mind
